Forum on Back Injuries - Low Back Pain: The Critical First 30 Days - This presentation will discuss why the first 30 day are so important to treat quickly in the worker’s compensation environment; the “red flags” for both patients and providers. The signs, symptoms and types of LBP and classification of opiates. Dr. Michael Levin graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1978. He completed an internship in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Cincinnati (1979) and was a Resident in Anesthesiology at UC Davis (1980-82). He then completed a Fellowship in Pain Management at UC Davis (1993). He has been both an Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology (1994-2000) and a Clinical Instructor at UC Davis (1992-1993). Dr. Levin began private practice treating Chronic Pain patients in 1994, and is currently the President of Sacramento Pain Clinic and Medical Director of the Functional Restoration Center. Dr. Levin became Board Certified in Anesthesiology in 1985 and received the Certificate of Added Qualifications in Pain Management in 1994. |
