Everyone comes to the table with certain biases. In this seminar, those socio, cultural, economic and religious issues will be discussed so that attendees can have a better understanding and foundation into why and how people will react when presented with certain situations. The intent is to offer insight to assist attendees in their approach to these situations so that the claim can be resolved short of having to get to the litigation stage and if not, what effect such reactions will have on verdict values. James Keowen graduated from Santa Clara University in 1987, with a B.S. degree in Psychology. In 1994, he graduated from McGeorge School of Law with his Juris Doctorate. He is admitted to all of the Courts in the State of California. Further, he is admitted to practice in the Federal District Courts for the Eastern District of California and the Northern District of California. Jim has handled all manner of cases from Personal Injury matters, to Partnership Dissolutions. His primary area of practice recently has been in the construction arena, including handling construction defect claims and Public Works contract claims. He has handled both civil trials and binding Administrative Arbitrations of Public Contract matters. Jim has served on the Board for the CCNC for(ever) serving as its Legal Counsel. He is also a member of the DRI, AGC, ASA, and the Inns of Court. Lawrence Hensley began his legal career as a probation officer in Humbolt County. He graduated from Humboldt State in 1973 and the University of San Francisco with a masters in 1976. He attended McGeorge School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1982. He has been licensed since that time and is admitted to all courts in the State of California and the Eastern and Northern District Courts and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Larry has handled all manner of civil cases, primarily focusing on insurance defense of Premises Liability, Products Liability and Personal Injury cases. Larry has tried many cases to jury verdict and handled significant appellate cases as well. Larry also serves as settlement conference Pro tem in El Dorado Superior Court. Mr. Wasser has been in the Insurance Adjusting Industry for 43 years. The last 30 some years he has been in management. He spent the last five years with Zurich as a team manager, retiring two years ago. Prior to that he was a Branch Manager for Cunningham Lindsey and its predecessor companies. He was with American States/Safeco and Reliance before that. Pat has dealt with all lines of insurance over the years, from Property and Casualty, to Workers compensation. He has also done work in bonds, E&O for attorneys, dentists and veterinarians. Pat has set up all manner of programs and seminars for the companies he has worked for over the years. He has instructed through the Washington State Bar Association, the Washington Trial Lawyers and Pacific Lutheran University Law School. |
