Joe Mays is a Property Claims Examiner with Golden Bear Insurance Company, where he investigates, evaluates, and resolves property damage claims. He reviews coverage, analyzes damage, sets reserves, negotiates settlements, and works closely with vendors and legal counsel to ensure fair and timely resolutions. Joe began his claims career in 2013 after retiring from retail that same year. Since then, he has handled large commercial losses as a General Adjuster and is a licensed adjuster in the state of California. He brings a strong commitment to professionalism and service in every claim he handles.

Joe has attended CCNC since 2013 and joined the board in 2024. Last year he served on the Registration Committee, and this year he is leading Production and management of the Whova app. In this role, he oversees the platform that supports the conference, including registration, marketing, attendee engagement, and networking. He also serves on the board of the East Bay Claims Association and is committed to supporting growth and connection within the claims community.
